TRZ Tangram is a classic shape puzzle game where you use seven geometric pieces, called tans, to form a specific silhouette. This browser-based game challenges your spatial reasoning across 39 distinct puzzles, plus a creative Free Mode.
With simple drag-and-drop mouse controls, it's an accessible yet mentally stimulating experience similar to traditional block puzzles.
The core challenge of TRZ Tangram lies in its simple but strict rules. Your goal is to replicate the target shape using all seven of the provided pieces. The pieces must all lie flat on the puzzle board.
Crucially, the pieces cannot overlap one another. They must be placed edge-to-edge to fill the silhouette perfectly. Mastering the placement and rotation of each tan is the key to solving these ancient puzzles.
The main mode in TRZ Tangram presents you with 39 puzzles of increasing complexity. You'll start with simpler shapes that are easier to visualize, but soon progress to intricate figures of animals, objects, and people.
Each level provides a grayed-out silhouette that you must fill completely.
This mode is a fantastic workout for your brain, testing your problem-solving skills and ability to see how different shapes can combine. Success comes from trial and error, rotating pieces, and seeing the bigger picture one piece at a time.
Once you've tested your skills on the pre-designed puzzles, you can explore Free Mode. This mode removes the silhouette, giving you a blank canvas. Here, you're free to arrange the seven tans however you wish to create your own unique designs and patterns.
Free Mode offers a relaxing, creative outlet without the pressure of finding a single correct solution. It's a great way to experiment with the geometric properties of the pieces and invent your own challenges.
You can play TRZ Tangram directly in your web browser with no downloads or installation required.
Because it's a lightweight HTML5 game, it runs on most devices and can be accessed on networks at school or work, offering a quick and easy way to enjoy a classic puzzle challenge.
The goal in TRZ Tangram is to arrange the seven geometric shapes (tans) to perfectly match the target silhouette on the screen. All seven pieces must be used, and they cannot overlap.
Use your mouse to interact with the puzzle. Use a left click to select a piece and drag it onto the puzzle board. To change a piece's orientation, simply left click on it without dragging, and it will rotate 45 degrees.
Progress through the game by solving the 39 puzzles in order. Each solved puzzle unlocks the next, more challenging silhouette. There is no time limit, so you can solve them at your own pace.
In Free Mode, there is no silhouette to match. You are given the seven pieces and a blank canvas to create any shape or design you can imagine.
Start with Corners - Position the large triangles first, as their long, straight edges often align with the outer boundary of the silhouette. Mind the Parallelogram - The parallelogram is often the trickiest piece.
Remember its unique slanted sides and try to fit it against other angled pieces. Rotate Everything - If you're stuck, systematically click on a piece to rotate it through all its possible orientations. The correct fit might be an angle you haven't considered.
Fill Large Areas First - Use the biggest pieces to block out large sections of the puzzle. This reduces the remaining area and makes placing the smaller pieces much easier.
Look for Familiar Combos - Notice how two small triangles can form a square or a medium triangle. Recognizing these combinations can help you fill specific sections of the silhouette.
