Boat Battles

4.8(46)7.2K playsBattleship Games

Boat Battles is a digital adaptation of the classic naval combat board game, Battleship. This turn-based strategy game, playable in your browser, challenges you to strategically place your fleet and deduce the location of your opponent's ships.

Using your mouse to fire shots, you'll engage in a tense battle of wits to sink the enemy fleet before they find and destroy yours.

How Do You Play Boat Battles?

The game unfolds in two distinct phases. First is the placement phase, where you arrange your five warships on a 10x10 grid. You can drag and rotate your ships to create a defensive layout you think your opponent won't easily guess.

Once both sides are ready, the combat phase begins.

Players take turns calling out coordinates on the enemy's grid. You use your mouse to click on a square to launch an attack.

A successful hit is marked with a red peg or an explosion, while a miss is shown with a white peg or a splash. The first player to successfully sink all five of their opponent's ships wins the naval engagement.

Classic vs. Advanced Game Modes

Boat Battles offers two primary ways to play, catering to both purists and those seeking a new challenge. Classic Mode is the traditional experience you know and love, following the original rules of Battleship without any modifications. It's a pure test of logic and deduction.

Advanced Mode adds a new layer of strategy with special abilities. These can include powers like air strikes that scan an entire row or column, defensive mines, and anti-air guns.

These additions change how you approach both offense and defense, requiring you to think several moves ahead.
