Frequently Asked Questions

Cards are placed face-down in a grid. Click a card to flip it and reveal the emoji underneath. Then click a second card - if the two emojis match, both cards stay face-up. If they don't match, both flip back face-down after a short delay. Find all matching pairs to win!
Each pair of card flips counts as one move. Flipping the first card doesn't count - the move is recorded when you flip the second card (whether it matches or not). Your goal is to complete the game in as few moves as possible.
There are three difficulty levels: Easy (4x3 grid with 6 pairs), Medium (4x4 grid with 8 pairs), and Hard (5x4 grid with 10 pairs). Each difficulty tracks separate personal bests for moves and time.
Scores are rated based on the ratio of moves to pairs. Perfect Memory means finishing in about the minimum possible moves. Excellent is under 1.5x the pair count. Great is under 2x. The theoretical minimum is one move per pair - meaning you remember every card perfectly.
Yes! Your best moves and times for each difficulty, total games played, and your last 50 game results are saved in your browser's local storage. No data is sent to any server - everything stays on your device.
Focus on card positions rather than rushing. Try to group cards mentally by their location in the grid. Start with Easy mode to build spatial memory skills. Regular practice strengthens working memory. Get enough sleep - memory consolidation happens during rest.

Memory Test - Test Your Memory with Card Matching

Our free memory card game challenges you to find all matching pairs by flipping cards. Each game generates a random arrangement of emoji pairs. Flip two cards at a time - if they match, they stay revealed. If not, they flip back and you need to remember their positions.

How Moves Are Counted

Each pair of card flips counts as one move. Your goal is to find all pairs in as few moves as possible. The minimum possible moves equals the number of pairs - achieving this means you have perfect memory!

Tips to Improve

Focus on remembering card positions rather than trying to match quickly. Start with the easier difficulty to build your spatial memory. Use mental grouping - associate card positions with patterns on the grid. Regular practice strengthens your working memory.
