MapGuess Leaderboard
Top geography guessing scores from around the world
How the MapGuess Leaderboard Works
The MapGuess leaderboard tracks the best geography players on Sonsaur across four distinct game modes. Every valid round you play gets scored automatically, and the top performers in each mode appear here in real time. Compete against other geography enthusiasts from every continent without signing up for anything extra.
Game modes ranked on this board
- Classic Mode: five panoramas per round with a generous time allowance. Precision matters more than speed. Scores reward tight guesses within a few hundred kilometers of the real location.
- Timed Mode: the clock forces quick decisions. Shorter rounds amplify score multipliers, so confident guesses under pressure earn the highest placements.
- Country Streak: how many countries can you identify consecutively before a single miss ends the run? Streak length is the sole ranking metric.
- Daily Challenge: one fixed location set, rotated every 24 hours. Everyone plays the same map, so scores are directly comparable across the day.
How to climb the rankings
Study road signs, vegetation, driving side, and architecture clues before guessing. Accurate placement in the first two seconds earns a bigger time-bonus multiplier. Multiplayer rooms do not feed the global leaderboard - only solo sessions count toward the standings shown here.
Tips from top-ranked players
The highest scorers recognize regional details instantly: yellow license plates point to the Netherlands, left-hand driving narrows it to about 75 countries, and Cyrillic script is a clear marker for Eastern Europe or Central Asia. Build your own mental atlas over dozens of rounds and the points come quickly.
