How Do You Score in Yatzy?

If your total score in this section reaches 63 or more, you earn a valuable 35-point bonus.
The lower section is where you score based on poker-style combinations.

Strategies for Winning Against Opponents
Success in Yatzy Arena is a mix of luck and smart decision-making. A key strategy is to decide when to play it safe and when to take a risk. Early in the game, focus on filling the upper section to secure the 35-point bonus.
It's often a more reliable path to a high score than chasing a rare combination like a Yatzy.
Pay close attention to your opponent's board. If they are forced to take a zero in a high-value category like Large Straight, you know you have an advantage there.
Conversely, if you have a bad roll with no good options, it's better to sacrifice a low-value category like 'Aces' by taking a low score or a zero, rather than wasting a slot like 'Full House'.

Aim for the Upper Bonus - Scoring at least 63 points in the upper section (Aces to Sixes) grants a crucial 35-point bonus. Prioritize this early. Don't Chase a Yatzy - Getting five of a kind is powerful but rare.
Don't sacrifice guaranteed points in other categories by fruitlessly chasing it.
Use Chance Wisely - If you have a terrible roll with no other scoring options, use the 'Chance' category to record the sum of the dice and avoid taking a zero in a more valuable slot.
Know When to Scratch - Sometimes you have to take a zero. It's better to score zero in the 'Aces' category than in 'Full House' or 'Large Straight'. Watch Your Opponent - See which categories your opponent is struggling with.
