The second option is "Free Ride" mode. Here, you're placed in a large, open-world city filled with ramps, loops, and hidden coins.
There are no opponents or time limits, making it the perfect place to practice your driving, perform insane stunts, and collect the currency needed to unlock new vehicles.
How Do You Unlock New Cars?
The game features 6 different punk-themed vehicles, each with its own look and feel. You start with one car, but you can unlock the others by spending coins. The primary way to earn these coins is by exploring the city in Free Ride mode.
Hunt them down on rooftops, in alleys, and on top of massive structures. Saving up for a faster car is key to conquering the later race levels.
Mastering 2-Player Split-Screen
One of the best features of Two Punk Racing is its local 2-player mode. The screen is split vertically, allowing you and a friend to compete directly on the same keyboard.
This brings back the classic fun of couch co-op gaming, letting you race head-to-head through the neon cityscapes. Coordinating your controls and battling for first place adds a layer of competitive excitement.

Game Tips
Grind in Free Ride - Before tackling the harder races, spend time in Free Ride mode to collect coins. Unlocking a faster car early on will make the race mode much easier.
Nitro on the Straights - Save your nitro boost for long, straight sections of the track. Using it in tight corners will likely cause you to crash. Reset is Your Friend - Don't waste time trying to correct a bad crash or a spin.
Hit the 'R' key immediately to reset your car on the track. It's much faster. Master the Handbrake Turn - While not a dedicated button, you can simulate a drift by quickly braking and turning. This is essential for navigating sharp corners at high speed.
Explore High and Low - In Free Ride, coins are hidden everywhere. Check the tops of the highest skyscrapers and the lowest underpasses to find them all. Learn the Tracks - Play each race track a few times to memorize the layout.
Knowing when a sharp turn or big jump is coming is the key to victory.
