TRZ Battleship is a classic turn-based naval strategy game for your browser. Based on the iconic board game, you command a fleet of warships hidden on a grid.
Your objective is to strategically guess coordinates to locate and destroy your opponent's hidden fleet before they find and sink all of yours.
The game is divided into two phases. First is the placement phase, where you arrange your five ships on your side of the grid. You can place them horizontally or vertically, but not diagonally. Think carefully, as clever placement is key to survival.
Once both fleets are positioned, the combat phase begins. You and your AI opponent take turns firing at each other's grids by choosing a square. A red marker indicates a successful hit, while a white one signifies a miss.
The first player to sink all five of the enemy's ships wins the naval engagement.
A common strategy after scoring a hit is to fire at the adjacent squares-up, down, left, or right-to determine the ship's orientation. Once you find a second hit, you know the ship's direction and can fire along that line until it's sunk.
Another popular method is to fire in a checkerboard pattern across the grid to maximize your chances of finding a ship early on.
TRZ Battleship perfectly captures the suspense and logic of the original pen-and-paper game. It streamlines the experience, eliminating the need for physical pegs and boards.
The simple click-based interface and clear visual feedback make it an accessible and engaging puzzle game for players of all ages who enjoy a good tactical challenge against a smart AI opponent.
You can play TRZ Battleship for free directly in your web browser. There are no downloads or installations required.
Because it's a lightweight HTML5 game, it runs smoothly on most devices and can be accessed on school or work networks that might block other gaming sites.
Your objective in TRZ Battleship is to be the first player to locate and sink all five of your opponent's hidden ships.
The game uses simple mouse controls. During the setup phase, use your mouse to select a ship and left click on the grid to place it. You can rotate ships before placing them.
In the battle phase, left click on a square in the opponent's grid to fire a shot at that coordinate.
A turn consists of you firing one shot, followed by the AI opponent firing one shot. A red marker means you've hit a ship, and a white marker means you've missed.
When all squares of a ship have been hit, it is considered sunk and will be fully revealed.
Spread Your Fleet - Avoid clustering all your ships in one area. Spreading them out makes it harder for the opponent to find your entire fleet quickly.
Hunt in a Line - Once you score a hit, fire on adjacent squares to find the ship's orientation. Don't fire randomly once you're on to something. Use the Edges - Players often neglect the edges of the board.
Placing a small ship like the Destroyer along the border can be an effective hiding spot. Don't Touch - Never place your ships directly adjacent to each other. A smart opponent can find two ships for the price of one search pattern.
Mind the Gaps - Pay attention to the size of the remaining enemy ships. If only the 2-square ship is left, don't waste shots firing into a 3-square empty gap.
