How Do You Score in Thirty One?
Scoring is straightforward but has a key rule. Aces are worth 11 points, face cards (King, Queen, Jack) are worth 10, and all other cards are worth their face value.
Your total score is calculated using only the cards from a single suit in your hand-whichever suit gives you the highest value.
For example, if you hold a King of Spades, a 7 of Spades, and an 8 of Hearts, your score is 17 (from the two spades). The 8 of Hearts is ignored because it's a different suit.
The perfect hand is an Ace and two 10-point cards of the same suit for a total of 31.
Understanding the Knock Mechanic
The core strategic element of Thirty One is the "knock." On your turn, if you think your hand is strong enough to not be the lowest at the table, you can knock instead of drawing a card. This action signals the final round of play.
After you knock, every other player gets one last turn to improve their hand. Once they've played, everyone reveals their cards. The player with the lowest score loses one of their lives.
Be careful-if you knock and someone else ends up with a higher score, you lose two lives as a penalty!
What is a Blitz?
A "Blitz" is the best possible outcome in Thirty One. This occurs when you assemble a hand that totals exactly 31 points. If you achieve a Blitz, you declare it immediately, and the round ends.
You automatically win, and every other player at the table loses a life.

Game Tips
Watch the Discards - Paying attention to what your opponents discard reveals which suits they are not collecting, giving you valuable information. Know When to Knock - You don't need a perfect hand to win.
If you have a score of 21 or higher, it's often a good strategy to knock and put pressure on the other players.
Hold a High Card - Keeping one high-value card like an Ace or King can be a good defensive play to save you from having the lowest score, even if it doesn't match your primary suit.
Commit to a Suit - Decide on a suit to collect within your first turn or two. Constantly changing your target suit will likely leave you with a low score.
Discard Useless Low Cards - Your first priority should be getting rid of low-value cards that don't match the suit you've decided to collect.
