The objective of Tetro Attack is to score as many points as possible by clearing horizontal lines of blocks. You must rotate and move the falling tetrominoes to fill in complete rows from one side of the screen to the other.
The game ends if the stack of blocks reaches the top of the playfield.
Use the left and right arrow keys to move the falling piece horizontally. Press the up arrow key to rotate the piece 90 degrees clockwise. Press the down arrow key to make the piece fall faster, which is known as a 'soft drop'.
To instantly place a piece at the bottom of the screen, press the spacebar for a 'hard drop'. As you clear lines, your level will increase. With each new level, the speed of the falling blocks will get progressively faster, demanding quicker thinking and reflexes.
Plan Ahead - Always keep an eye on the 'Next' piece display. Knowing what's coming next allows you to plan your placements two or three moves in advance. Build Flat - Try to keep the top of your stack as level as possible.
Avoid creating deep holes or single-block spires, as they are very difficult to fill in later. Don't Rush - In the early levels, the pieces fall slowly. Use this time to think carefully about where each piece should go to set up future line clears.
Aim for Multi-line Clears - Clearing two, three, or four lines at once scores significantly more points than clearing single lines. Always try to set up these bigger moves.
Save the Long Piece - The straight 'I' piece is the only one that can clear four lines at once. If possible, save an open column on one side of the board to drop it into for a huge score bonus.
Use Hard Drop Sparingly - The spacebar is great for speed, but a misplaced hard drop is permanent. Only use it when you are absolutely certain of a piece's final position.
