It's often better to focus on saving the majority than to risk the entire group for one straggler. Use Short Hops - A quick tap or click results in a small hop, which is perfect for clearing low-lying spikes without overshooting your landing.
Memorize Patterns - Levels have fixed layouts. If you fail, pay attention to the obstacle pattern so you can anticipate the required jumps on your next attempt.
