How Does the Day and Night Cycle Work?
The gameplay in Plague Week is split into two distinct phases: day and night. During the day, the zombies are less active, giving you a critical window to explore the map.
This is your time to search buildings for ammunition, medical supplies, new weapons, and materials to build and repair barricades. Make every second count, because once the sun sets, the real challenge begins.
When night falls, the zombies become aggressive and will attack in coordinated waves. Your objective is to survive until dawn. Each successive night brings more numerous and more dangerous types of zombies, testing the defenses you prepared and your skill in combat.
Surviving the night allows you to progress to the next day.
Upgrading Your Arsenal and Defenses
You won't last long with just a basic pistol. A key part of Plague Week is improving your gear. As you scavenge, you'll find different weapons like powerful shotguns for crowd control and accurate rifles for picking off targets at a distance.
You'll also collect scrap and parts that can be used at workbenches to upgrade your favorite firearms, increasing their damage, magazine size, or reload speed.
Beyond weapons, you can construct and reinforce barricades to create choke points and slow the zombie advance. Placing these defenses strategically can mean the difference between a secure night and being completely overrun. Don't forget to repair them during the day!

Use the entire daytime period to search as many buildings as possible for the best loot. Barricade Choke Points - Don't just board up windows around you. Place barricades in narrow alleyways or doorways to funnel zombies into a kill zone.
Reload Tactically - Get into the habit of hitting the R key during any brief pause in the action. Running out of bullets in the middle of a fight is a common way to get overwhelmed.
Know Your Enemy - Pay attention to different zombie types. Prioritize taking out the fast-moving ones first, as they can close the distance and damage you quickly. Match Weapon to Situation - Use shotguns when zombies get close and you need to clear a group.
