Impostor is a survival RPG where you play as a lone saboteur aboard a spaceship. Your mission in this browser-based arcade game is to eliminate all the crewmates without being discovered.

How Do You Win a Round?
Victory in Impostor can be achieved in two primary ways: eliminating every single crewmate or successfully executing a critical sabotage. To eliminate a crewmate, you must get close to them when they are isolated and use your kill ability.
Be mindful of your kill cooldown timer, which prevents you from eliminating crewmates too quickly.
Alternatively, you can sabotage vital ship systems like the O2 or the reactor. This triggers an emergency countdown, and if the crewmates fail to repair the system in time, you win the round automatically.
This is a great way to create chaos and pressure the crew.
Upgrading Your Impostor
What sets Impostor apart is its RPG progression system. After each round, you'll earn points based on your performance. You can spend these points in the upgrade shop to enhance your abilities.
Available upgrades include increasing your movement speed, reducing your kill cooldown time, and improving the effectiveness of your sabotages. Choosing the right upgrades is key to adapting your strategy and becoming a more efficient threat.
Using Vents and Sabotage
The ship is equipped with a network of vents that only the Impostor can use. These are your best tool for moving around the map undetected, escaping a crime scene, or setting up an ambush.
However, be careful not to be seen entering or exiting a vent, as this will immediately expose you. You can also sabotage systems like the lights to reduce the crew's visibility or lock doors to trap a target.

In the dark, crewmates are less likely to see you and it's easier to slip away. Fake Your Presence - Stand near a group of crewmates without attacking to make them think you're one of them, lowering their suspicion before you strike later.
Prioritize Cooldown - The most valuable first upgrade is reducing your kill cooldown. This allows you to eliminate the crew much faster. Isolate and Conquer - Never attempt a kill when multiple crewmates are nearby.
Wait for one to wander off alone before you make your move. Report Your Own Kills - In a risky situation, you can report a body you just killed to throw suspicion onto someone else during the meeting.
