How Do You Build Your Empire?
Your journey begins with a humble Town Center and a few villagers. Your immediate task is to gather the four key resources: food, wood, gold, and stone.
You'll command your villagers to chop trees, forage for berries, mine gold veins, and quarry stone deposits scattered across the map.
These resources are the lifeblood of your empire. You'll use them to construct essential buildings like Barracks, Archery Ranges, and Stables to produce military units.
A strong economy is crucial; a player who manages their resources effectively will almost always have an advantage in a long match.
Choosing From 12 Civilizations
Feudal Wars offers a choice of 12 distinct civilizations, each bringing a unique flavor to the battlefield. One civilization might have powerful cavalry units, while another gets a bonus to its economic growth. Some have access to exclusive technologies or exceptionally strong defensive structures.
This variety encourages different strategic approaches. Before each match, consider the map and your preferred playstyle. Do you want to rush your opponent with an early attack, or build a booming economy for a powerful late-game army?
Your choice of civilization will heavily influence your strategy.
Mastering Real-Time Combat
Success in combat isn't just about having the biggest army-it's about having the right army. Feudal Wars uses a rock-paper-scissors system of unit counters.
Spearmen are effective against cavalry, cavalry can quickly close the distance on archers, and archers can pick off slow-moving infantry from a distance.
Scouting is essential. You need to know what kind of army your opponent is building so you can create the appropriate counters. Managing your troops in real-time, flanking enemy formations, and focusing your fire on high-value targets will separate skilled commanders from novices.

Controls are managed primarily with the mouse. Use a left click to select a unit or building, and then left click again on the ground or an enemy to issue a move or attack command.
You can drag a box with the mouse to select multiple units at once. Pan the camera by moving your mouse to the edge of the screen or by using the arrow keys.
Start by commanding your villagers to gather resources like wood, food, gold, and stone. Use these resources to construct buildings, such as Houses to increase your population limit and Barracks to train military units.
As your empire grows, you can advance to new technological ages to unlock more powerful units and upgrades.
Game Tips
Scout Early - Immediately send one of your starting units to explore the map. Finding your opponent's base and nearby resources is critical information. Balance Your Economy - Don't focus only on military.
Continuously train new villagers to ensure you have a steady income of resources throughout the match. Know Unit Counters - Pay attention to what your enemy is building. Don't send cavalry into a wall of spearmen. Build units that specifically counter their army composition.
Play to Your Civ's Strengths - Each of the 12 civilizations has unique bonuses. If your civ has cheaper archers, make them the core of your army.
Use Control Groups - Select a group of units and press CTRL + a number key (1-9) to assign them to a group. You can then quickly re-select them by pressing that number key. Don't Get Housed - Always build enough Houses ahead of time.
Getting "population capped" can halt your unit production at a critical moment.
