Understanding the Threat
You aren't just shooting at static targets. The invaders will fire their own projectiles down at you. You start with a limited number of lives, and you'll lose one if your cannon is hit or if a single invader touches the ground.
To help you survive, there are four destructible shields positioned above your cannon.
These barriers can absorb both your shots and enemy fire, but they degrade with each impact. Using them wisely is key to surviving the later stages of a wave when the enemy fire becomes more intense.

Game Tips
Stay on the Move - Don't remain in one spot for too long. Constant movement makes you a much harder target for the invaders' shots. Use Shields Strategically - Try to shoot through the gaps in your shields to preserve them.
Save them for when the last few invaders are moving very quickly and firing rapidly. Clear the Edges - Eliminating the invaders on the far left or right first can give you more time before the fleet reverses direction and drops down.
Focus Fire - It's often better to clear an entire vertical column of aliens. This creates a safe channel where you can momentarily avoid enemy fire. Time Your Shots - You can only have one of your lasers on the screen at a time.
Wait for your shot to hit a target or go off-screen before firing again to maximize your rate of fire.
