How Do You Play Battleships Armada?
The game unfolds in two distinct phases. First is the placement phase. You are given a fleet of five different warships, each occupying a specific number of squares. You must place them horizontally or vertically on your grid.
Think carefully, as this initial setup is permanent and crucial for your defense.
Once all ships are placed, the combat phase begins. You and the computer take turns firing a single shot at the opposing grid by clicking a square. A red marker indicates a successful hit on an enemy ship, while a white marker signifies a miss.
The objective is to land hits on every square of an enemy ship to sink it. The first player to sink the entire enemy fleet wins the battle.
Strategic Firing Patterns
While you can click randomly, a systematic approach greatly increases your chances of victory. A common and effective strategy is the 'checkerboard' or 'skip-a-square' pattern.
By firing on every other square (like A1, A3, C1, C3), you can cover the grid and find enemy ships much faster than by firing sequentially.
Once you score a hit, switch tactics immediately. Instead of continuing your search pattern, focus on the squares directly adjacent to your hit- up, down, left, and right.
This 'hunt' mode allows you to quickly identify the ship's orientation and sink it with consecutive shots before the enemy gets too many turns.

Game Tips
Spread 'Em Out - Avoid clustering your ships in one area. Spacing them out makes it harder for the opponent to find your whole fleet after sinking one ship. Checkerboard Search - When hunting for ships, fire on every other square in a checkerboard pattern.
This is the most efficient way to cover the grid and find a target. Hunt Mode Activated - As soon as you score a hit, abandon your search pattern. Fire on the squares immediately surrounding the hit to sink the ship as quickly as possible.
Avoid Contact - Never place your ships so they are touching each other. This prevents the opponent from finding a second ship immediately after sinking the first one.
Use the Center - Placing ships along the absolute edges of the board can make them easier to find. Use the middle of the board to create more uncertainty for your opponent.
