What is the Goal in Alchemy?
Your primary objective in Alchemy is to discover all 580 possible elements. You begin with just four, but each successful combination adds a new item to your workspace and your encyclopedia. The ultimate goal is to fill this encyclopedia completely.
The process is one of pure experimentation. You drag one element on top of another to see if they react. If they do, a new element is born. If not, nothing happens, so you can try again with a different pairing without any penalty.
A Game of Logic and Lateral Thinking
Success in Alchemy requires more than just random clicking. The game's logic operates on both literal and figurative levels. For example, combining Water and Earth obviously makes Mud. That's a literal combination.
However, you'll also need to think conceptually. What happens when you combine a Human with a Tool? You might get a Farmer. This mix of scientific and philosophical combinations is what makes the puzzle so engaging and challenges you to think outside the box.
How Do You Find All the Elements?
Finding every single element is a true challenge. A good strategy is to be systematic. Whenever you create a new element, try combining it with every other element you've already discovered, including the original four.
Sometimes, combining an element with itself can also yield a new result.
If you're stuck trying to create a specific item, like a Skyscraper, try to think backwards. A skyscraper is made of glass, metal, and concrete. You'll need to figure out how to make those base components first before you can build the final product.

Controls are very simple. Use your mouse to click and drag one element from the right-hand panel onto your workspace. To attempt a combination, click and drag one element on top of another one already in the workspace.
If the combination is successful, the two elements will disappear and be replaced by a new one. This new discovery is automatically added to your library for future use.
If the combination is incorrect, the elements will just shake and separate, allowing you to try again.
Game Tips
Be Systematic - When you discover a new element, try combining it with every other element you already have. Think Conceptually - Not all combinations are literal. Think about ideas and concepts, like 'Time' + 'Human' = 'Corpse'.
Combine with the Basics - Don't forget to constantly try combining your new discoveries with the original four elements (Fire, Water, Earth, Air).
Work Backwards - If you want to make something complex like a 'Car', think about what it's made of (Metal, Wheel, Engine) and try to create those first. Duplicate Elements - You can drag the same element from your library multiple times.
