Agent of Descend is a challenging, turn-based RPG adventure where you battle through progressively difficult floors. As a lone agent, you use a point-and-click interface to move, attack, and manage your resources in this browser-based game.
Success hinges on strategic upgrades to your weapons, armor, and skills between levels.
In Agent of Descend, each level presents a new floor filled with enemies. Your goal is to eliminate all of them to unlock the stairs to the next, more dangerous floor.
Combat is turn-based, relying on an Action Point (AP) system that governs how many moves or attacks you can make per turn.
After clearing a floor, you'll get a chance to visit the shop. Here you can spend your earnings on new swords, guns, and protective gear.
You can also invest in your core skills, improving your proficiency with specific weapon types or boosting your overall health and AP pool.
This isn't a game about mindlessly clicking. You need to carefully consider your positioning and AP usage. Should you move closer for a melee attack or stay back and use a ranged weapon?
Do you have enough AP to attack twice or should you save some to move away from a powerful foe?
The skill system allows for varied character builds. You can choose to become a master swordsman, a deadly sharpshooter, or a balanced agent who can handle any situation.
Specializing in one weapon type early on is often a good strategy, as it unlocks more powerful abilities and damage bonuses for that category.
You can play Agent of Descend directly in your web browser with no downloads required. Because it's an HTML5 game, it runs on most modern devices and networks, including those at school or work.
You can start your descent into the dangerous dungeons instantly, for free.
The main goal in Agent of Descend is to survive and descend as deep as possible. To advance to the next floor, you must defeat every enemy on your current level.
Controls are managed entirely with the mouse. Use a left click to select a tile to move to, or click on an enemy within range to attack them. You also use your mouse to navigate the shop and skill menus between floors.
Gameplay progresses in a cycle. You clear a floor by defeating enemies, which earns you money. Before descending, you use that money in the shop to purchase better weapons and armor. You also allocate skill points to improve your agent's stats and abilities.
Each action in combat, like moving or attacking, consumes Action Points (AP). You have a limited number of AP per turn, so you must plan your actions carefully to be effective without leaving yourself vulnerable.
Manage Your AP - Don't waste Action Points. If you can defeat an enemy with one hit, don't spend extra AP moving to a different square unless it's for a better strategic position.
Specialize Early - Focus your skill points on one weapon category at the start. This will maximize your damage output and make the early floors much easier to clear.
Inspect Your Foes - Before attacking, click on an enemy to see their health and potential damage. This helps you prioritize targets and know if you can survive a counter-attack. Heal Smartly - Health items are not always available in the shop.
Use them only when necessary, as you may need them more on tougher, deeper floors. Balance Your Gear - A powerful weapon is great, but useless if you're defeated in one hit. Make sure to upgrade your armor alongside your offensive gear for better survivability.
